A little preparation goes a long way in helping your skin have the best possible experience with Exceed Microneedling. Please follow these guidelines before your appointment:

    •    Arrive with clean skin and avoid applying makeup the day of your appointment.

    •    Avoid intentional sun exposure and tanning for at least 1 week before your treatment.

    •    Pause retinoids, exfoliating acids, and other potentially irritating active ingredients several days before your appointment, as directed.

    •    Avoid waxing, threading, or other aggressive hair-removal treatments on the treatment area for at least 1 week prior.

 •    Avoid other exfoliating or resurfacing treatments leading up to your appointment unless specifically approved.

    •    Keep your skin hydrated in the days leading up to your treatment and drink plenty of water.

    •    Do not arrive with an active sunburn, open wound, or significant irritation in the treatment area.

    •    If you are using prescription skincare or medications, please let me know before your appointment so we can determine whether any adjustments are needed.

When in doubt, less is more. The goal is to arrive with a calm, healthy, well-hydrated skin barrier so we can focus on getting you the best possible results.

Your skin has just been intentionally stimulated to begin the process of rebuilding and regenerating. Proper aftercare is essential for supporting the healing process and protecting your results.

The First 24 Hours

    •    Keep your skin clean and untouched as much as possible.

    •    Use only the post-treatment products recommended by your esthetician.

    •    Avoid makeup for at least 24 hours unless otherwise directed.

    •    Avoid strenuous exercise, excessive sweating, saunas, steam rooms, and hot showers.

    •    Avoid direct sun exposure and do not intentionally tan.

    •    Do not apply active ingredients, exfoliants, retinoids, or other potentially irritating products unless specifically instructed.

The Following Days

    •    Keep your skin hydrated and moisturized with gentle, barrier-supporting products.

    •    Apply broad-spectrum SPF 30+ daily and minimize prolonged sun exposure.

    •    Allow your skin to naturally shed and regenerate. Do not pick, peel, scrub, or exfoliate any flaking or dry areas.

    •    Resume your regular skincare routine gradually and only when your skin has returned to its normal comfort level.

What’s Normal?

Mild redness, warmth, tightness, sensitivity, dryness, or light flaking can occur as your skin heals. These effects are temporary and typically improve over the following days.

Remember: your skin is doing the work. Give it time, hydration, protection, and patience while the collagen-building process takes place.

Microneedling may not be appropriate for clients who have:

    •    Active acne breakouts, especially cystic or pustular acne in the treatment area

    •    Active skin infections, cold sores, or open wounds

    •    Active eczema, psoriasis, rosacea flares, or other inflammatory skin conditions in the treatment area

    •    A history of poor wound healing or keloid scarring

    •    Uncontrolled diabetes or conditions that significantly impair healing

    •    A weakened immune system or certain immune-suppressing conditions/medications

• Blood-clotting disorders or use of certain blood-thinning medications

• Recent isotretinoin (Accutane) use — treatment should be deferred according to current medical guidance and your device/protocol requirements

• Recent aggressive cosmetic procedures, such as deep chemical peels, laser

• resurfacing, or other treatments that have not fully healed

• A recent sunburn or significant sun exposure

• Known allergies or sensitivities to products being used during treatment
